TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 7:30PM-10:00PM
LINCOLN CENTER ATRIUM
1887 BROADWAY, NEW YORK, NY 10023
Our NYC sister Hula school, Ka Pā Hula O La`akea will be sharing a Hula ‘Auana performance at the inaugural, episodic concert series Icons, created by Venezuelan-born and Brooklyn-based artist Migguel Anggelo. The performance is community celebration of pop idol Freddie Mercury. Backed by an all-star lineup of live musicians, this concert celebrates the lead singer of the rock band Queen and examines the universal subjects of admiration, legacy, and identity. Icons explores artists that—by challenging the status quo—change how we see ourselves and the world. Directed by and developed with Adrian Alea, and led by Musical Director Jaime Lozano, Icons: Freddie Mercury will feature special surprise guests to be announced.
