Rhythm & Recipes (ages 10-18)
Dancers Unlimited is joining forces with Vivistop to bring you Rhythm & Recipe workshops, which combines moveMEANT, music production, and ono recipes to tell the stories of the various cultural heritages in our ever growing community. The workshop will end with a potluck, please bring a dish to share. Participants have the option to perform or showcase their work at our 15 anniversary reception following our Edible Tales show on March 22nd at the Leeward Community College.

Contemporary & Repertoire Workshop
The workshop leads the students through the creative process of our touring repertoire, Edible Tales. Exercises include exploring contemporary movements that weave together different dance styles and stories, and learning phrases from the repertoire. Candice and Linda bring together their expertise in seamlessly merging various dance styles to tell authentic moveMEANT narratives. <FREE>

Fundraiser Workshops for VIVISTOP
Calling our community to one of Honolulu’s premier creative space for the Keiki and community in Kaka`ako! ALL PROCEEDS from these daily workshops will be donated to help keep its doors open, and continue offering its stellar creative and entrepreneurial programs for the youths. Edible Tales is a multimedia dance installation exploring cultural heritage, social justice and sustainability. Through a community-centered creative process, we co-create with our audiences and community members and transform food stories into impactful and authentic moveMEANT narratives - on stage, outdoors, and on films. The special Hawai`i program features performances from our community partners, including Ka Pā Hula O Laʻakea. Tickets: $5-$35

CUNY DANCE INITIATIVE RESIDENCY

Dancers Unlimited is excited to be explore our next choreographic project that centers REST as our creative practice. We are imagining ways to bring RESTFUL PRACTICES to our audience as an immersive performative experience. How do we rest and uplift each other in community? How is REST a radical act of community care? How can dance and rest complement each other? We are reading works by The Nap Ministry, Audre Lorde, and Bell Hooks, as well as tapping into our dancersʻ many creative expressions. Join us on May 17th for a work in progress sharing at Snug Harbor.
