The arts funding is under threat by the current administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)’s directives to substantially if not completely reducing the funding and staff for National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) and National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Dancer's Unlimited’s core mission that centers around diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility is also under legal and political scrutiny. However, we believe that this is an opportunity for us to practice ʻEA, the Hawaiian word for sovereignty.

And sovereignty cannot be possible without community support and engagement.

For the past 15 years, Dancers Unlimited has centered community engagement as a key part of our mission-driven creative process. We are returning dance to its rightful place in healing, collaboration and community building. Authentic moveMEANT storytelling connects us to our roots and identities - we collaboratively move in our healing journeys toward reconnecting with ancestral knowledge and collective growth.

DU IS COMMUNITY.
