A Hip Hop and House dance pioneer, Sekou is a member of MOPTOP crew and Dance Fusion NYC Crew. He has been teaching around the world for over 25 years, and along with his crew has been key to the evolution and preservation of Hip Hop and House dance culture. Sekou joined DU as the company advisor in 2014, guiding the company on creating work that is rooted in the dances our ancestors have passed down to us. He also brings his fitness expertise to the company to help our dancers ‘stay ready.’

A kanaka Hawaiian born and raised in Hawai’i, ‘Auli’i grew up studying the Hula as a tool for cultural resilience and personal awakening. She combines her background in substance abuse counseling with Hawaiian cultural practices to address generational and personal trauma. ‘Auli’i is the Founder and Kumu of Na Wahine o La’akea, a sister group that promotes collective healing through Hula. She has also been a Hawaiian culture educator, traveling throughout the islands to work with youths and community organizations, include Nature Activities For Learning and Understanding (NALU) Studies. ‘Auli’i joined the company as our spiritual and cultural advisor in 2010, taking care of our dancers, helping maximize our capacity, and keeping us aligned with our mission.

Jermaine is a multimedia producer and director who has worked on music and video production for companies such as Bloomberg, ESPN, CBS, MTV, PBS, Discovery Channel, Military Channel, Nintendo and HBO.
Jermaine grew up in a musical environment but transitioned into production of music and film in his early teenage years. Jermaine received his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Florida A&M University. Jermaine now has 15 years of experience in music production and 13 years of experience in video production. Today, Jermaine works in three key roles.
Corporate: Jermaine is the Multimedia Specialist working for Bloomberg, LP under the Multimedia Communications Team.
Private Start-Up Companies: He is currently the U.S Director and Partner for Asia-based media company Halide.
He is also and Co-Founder/Director of multimedia company Curators of Hip Hop, LLC and is constantly building relations throughout Asia, Africa and The Pacific Islands for continued content production.

Sean is an attorney working in the public interest. He has done work in the environmental and climate space with Native Hawaiian communities. He is also a founder of the Hawai'i chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), which seeks to educate settlers in Hawai'i on issues of colonialism and imperialism.
